Linking the branch to the ZATCA Authority for business invoices.

To set up Business Invoices, activate a RETM System Unit via Fatoora code. System Units sign dashboard Business Invoices, while Device Units sign POS Simplified Invoices. This guide covers System Unit setup.

  1. Open the Integration Page

From the Market Place, open E-Invoicing under Native Integrations. On the tax authority integration page, view the branch list and connection statuses, then select your branch.

Note: Each branch must be connected individually using one System Unit for Business Invoices.

  2. Start System Unit Setup

In the B2B Business Invoices card, click Set Up B2B Invoice Reporting. Setup consists of four steps: Environment, Identity, Address, and Certificate.

  3. Select Environment

    Choose the appropriate environment:

    • Production: For live integration with the authority.

    • Sandbox or Simulation: For testing only.

  4. Review Identity

Identity details are auto-filled from branch data. Review the required fields:

    • Unit Name

    • Tax Identification Number (TIN)

    • Commercial Registration (CR) Number

Edit if necessary to match the required certificate data, then click Next.

  5. Complete National Address

Enter the National Address to be included in the certificate, matching the address registered with the authority.

Complete the required fields marked with an asterisk (*):

    • Country

    • City

    • District

    • Street

    • Building Number

    • Postal Code

You can also enter the Additional Code. Then click Next.

  6. Review Certificate Details and Create Unit

The certificate step includes optional fields that appear in the certificate issued by the authority for the unit:

    • Common Name

    • Organization Name

    • Organizational Unit

    • Business Category

Review the details, then click Create Unit.

The unit appears on the branch page in Draft status, showing its name, serial number, and selected environment. Creating the unit alone does not complete activation.

  7. Activate the Unit with a Verification Code

Click Activate with Verification Code, then follow the displayed instructions:

    • Log in to the Fatoora portal and open the onboarding page.

    • Generate a verification code for one device.

    • Enter the code into the verification code field in Retam before it expires.

    • Click Activate.

  8. Review Integration Status

After activation, review the unit and branch status to verify that integration is complete.

The branch list displays Connected to Authority for integrated branches and Not Connected to Authority for those not yet fully integrated, along with the number of active units.

Important: Do not rely solely on the "System Unit Ready" status; also check the overall integration status and the number of active units.
